A little about me
So first, you probably guessed it, I'm called Yann. I'm a software engineer and currently 37 years old. I'm a big fan of diverse stuff in IT, spend too much time on Youtube and love to cook meals for myself and my family or friends.
So I wanted to get it out there, and start my own little blow. This blog has some purpose for me. First, it's a project for myself. It helps me keep track of the cool stuff I see online and that I find worth mentioning.
This way I also sort out my too many saved videos/bookmarks etc. It's not a bad idea as I quickly realized, that most of the stuff I once saved online just…. stays there. Never moving, never rewatched/taken advantage of, never tested, never cooked and tasted - nothing. So I will use this blog to write about just those things.
Also I will use it for my own motivation and start keeping track of my own little projects here.
For now, I will try to keep it mostly to IT and cooking, but I will see where this goes. So, maybe you will manage to find some interesting things for you, maybe it's rather boring. That's just how life is, nothing is a given, most is for the taking and sometimes, we just stumble upon the thing we were always looking for.

On a day to day basis I work as a software engineer, which means I spend a lot of time staring at terminals, config files and the occasional stack trace that makes no sense at first. Outside of work I'm usually in the kitchen. I cook a lot, for myself, for my family and for friends, and I treat it a bit like debugging: figure out what went wrong, tweak the inputs, try again until it tastes right.
This blog started as a simple idea: stop bookmarking things I'll never look at again. I used to save videos, repos and recipes by the dozen and then just forget about them. So I decided to actually write about the stuff I stumble across, the tools I like, the things I build, and the dishes that worked, and the ones that didn't.
Mostly that means software and food, but honestly I'll follow whatever catches my interest. Some of it will be useful to you, some of it will be boring. That's just how it goes.
